Restaurants fined for employing illegals

FOUR restaurants have been fined a total of £42,500 for employing illegal workers.
Rimjhim, in City Road, Winchester; UK Best Kebabs near Sutton Scotney; Touch of Spice, Eastleigh; and Black Bean Restaurant, Stockbridge, were raided by the UK Border Agency between June, 2009 and February, 2010.
The fines are as follows: Black Bean, £17,500, after two Chinese nationals were arrested at the eatery on January 21, 2010; Touch of Spice, £15,000, after three Bangladeshi men were arrested at the restaurant on February 11, 2010; Rimjhim, £5,000, after a Nepalese man was arrested on July 23, 2009; UK Best Kebabs, £5,000, after a Turkish man was arrested on June 30, 2009.
